Think back to when you were just a kid cruising through your neighborhood on your bicycle? Are you smiling at the memory yet? Peals of laughter, as you and your friends enjoyed freewheeling fun with the wind blowing through your hair. Well guess what? Bicycling is not just for kids! It is a great way to get out and about – while having some good old-school fun!

The bike riding that kept us trim and strong as children offers enormous health benefits to us as adults. Bicycling is a great low-impact work out. It can be enjoyed by people of all ages and all fitness levels. It is a wonderful cardiovascular exercise, it is easy on your joints and it will get those legs and buttocks into tip-top shape! Biking also decreases stress levels and improves posture and balance. Simply staying upright on your bike strengthens your abdominal core muscles which not only looks great but keeps your lower back pain free.

Get started by choosing a bicycle. Pick one that fits you well. You should be able to ride around easily and stand comfortably over the bike. Other helpful equipment includes a helmet, a bag to carry belongings beneath the seat, and a bottle holder for your water. Other equipment can be added as your biking hobby takes off!

The best part? Bikers are a friendly lot. They span all age groups and endurance levels, so you can make some biking buddies and plan on getting out together to enjoy this old timer sport in a new-timey way.

Bicycling is a terrific way to get out and exercise while having fun and enjoying time with family and friends. Let’s go bike riding! Cruise on over to Schwinn for everything from bike selection to the biking community events.
