Have you been fighting with your mail everyday and somehow the pile doubles overnight? We know it isn’t possible, but seemingly, junk mail multiples even faster than rabbits. What is even worse than junk mail is the “I’m not sure it’s junk mail” pile. Many a counter has been lost to clutter, both in this country and abroad.
There is however a cure. It’s called organization. Now don’t laugh at me, we all know it isn’t quite that easy! However, your junk mail blues can be conquered – and in an attractive way.
1. Head down to the local discount store and buy some attractive storage boxes. The heavy cardboards ones with the magnetic fronts are perfect for this task. You can find them at most stores for anywhere from $5 to $10 and in a variety of sizes.
2. You will need one for the bills that need to be paid. Some of them also come with a stand up accordion file in a matching pattern — these work for those that are due. You can make them first, second, etc., weeks of the month — this way they work for every month.
3. Once you have paid the bill you can throw the receipt in the pretty box marked paid. If you have a file cabinet, once a month you can move the paid bills to your file cabinet.
4. Having a small box market tax receipts keeps makes filing your tax returns a breeze.
5. You can also have one where you keep your shopping coupons, fliers that you want to look at, and a list for grocery shopping.
6. Keep your shredder close by for credit card offers.
Can you now picture your counter, cleared and shining with a small stack of attractive boxes? You have won the war. Junk mail is conquered!
