Bridal showers can be wild. After the blushing bride has opened all of her gifts, she is often presented with a paper plate to which all the gift bows have been attached. If she wears it like a hat, it’s a photo op! There are giggles over racy lingerie, and you just hope no-one booked a ‘special guest’.

Not as embarrassing for the bride is a fun game that promises a different type of party bouquet, one filled with memorable Kodak moments. It’s called Bridal Shower Jeopardy, and it works really well with groups of all women or couples.

Preparation: Think up five categories and five questions in each category. Start with easy questions and work up to more difficult ones. (The tougher the question, the higher the dollar amount.) The categories should include topics relating to weddings, honeymoons, family relationships, babies, husband and wife issues (naturally, you’re supposed to know the answers).

Take a large piece of colored cardboard paper. Draw lines through it just like a Jeopardy board. Use a dark marker to fill in the boxes. Then, on a separate sheet of paper, write the answers that correspond with the categories and dollar amounts.

Rules: This game can be played as individuals (if a small party) or as teams (for larger groups). A category and a price are selected. If the question is answered correctly, the money (or points) is won. If an incorrect answer is given, the points are lost.

When all the questions are answered, the person or team with the highest point total wins. If the shower is large you can have several rounds of Jeopardy. Just don’t forget to purchase some creative prizes!

This is a great game, but takes some time and thought to prepare; so consider a printable version with preset questions. You can find it at Party Game Ideas.
