The Wellie Dilemma

Every year, around this time, I go back and forth on rubber rain footwear.  As I am dodging traffic to avoid puddles and making grand leaps over mud traps, I wonder why I haven’t purchased this practical wardrobe staple yet. They seem to look great on others, come in tons of colors, patterns and styles too.

I am determined to find a good fit for me this year, and am here to share my findings.  The stylish LB has the Hunter Classic Boot made for women (Huntress), in black. They look great with her black jeans tucked in and matching black pea coat. The little lug heel is great for traction and they even sell a fleece welly sock liner for the colder days. I must say, although originally designed for walking in Scotland’s rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather, they are quite stylish & comfortable.

The Kate Spade ‘Kirby’ is a chic alternative to a rain boot. This slip-on looks like a ballet flat including the bow detail. Of course it is rubber and has a small ½” heel with textured rubber sole. The camel/black houndstooth has red lining & bow for a pop on a rainy day.

There are several different brands, styles and colors to choose from.

Check out Zappos for a great selection and the ease of online ordering.
