There is an eclectic store on my favorite street in town that sells items only from Scandinavia ranging from books to artsy coffee cups. I love to go in once in a while, to browse and finish my coffee. The other day, I noticed the entire collection of Tretorn sneakers were there in an array of colors & styles for this season. That was a flashback to my younger years. But then I realized, wasn’t life simpler back then, and a simple sneaker did the trick?

We all need a comfortable, light shoe in the warmer weather to throw on as we are running out for this or that. Why not a Tretorn? Or a Superga, the Italian classic canvas? Or Keds, the American classic? Classic canvas is back. Focus on your style, laces or slip on. Choose any color – bold & bright to the basic white. They can be tossed in the washing machine; they just seem to make sense for casual style.

Keds has a fabulous new Green Label that makes sneaks from Friendly organic cotton, 20% recycled rubber, are PVC free and have Nickel free eyelets.

As they say, sustainable style never looked so good.

Check out Keds for a great selection.
