We all have days when we look for a hole in the ground to crawl into. A migraine lays us low, something we ate didn’t agree with us, we have a blister on our heel and no flats to switch into. We moan and rummage in our purse for Advil, Tums, Band-aids.
What about the days when we feel good? Usually we don’t even notice – we find other things to occupy our minds, like worrying over the dry cleaning or the big presentation we are supposed to give. We don’t even think about how we feel physically when we aren’t having a problem with it.
Take a minute to celebrate feeling good! Be happy when you wake up and you don’t have a headache, or when you go to slip off your heels and you don’t have a blister. Take pleasure in the little things that go right, and the friends and family that enrich your day to day existence.
Release tension in a healthy way. If your shoulders ache, do an impromptu shimmy and shake with the stereo turned up to loosen up. Sing along to James Brown and holler it – ‘I feel good!’ Think about all the people you are lucky to have in your life, and all the days you have when the little things work out, even if you don’t realize it.
