How many times have you watched a movie and oohed and aahed at the sumptuous hotel suites that Bond and his contemporaries always seem to score? Why not bring a little of that lavishness to your own home?
It doesn’t take a lot of doing to get a suite-like feel to your master bedroom and bath. Adding a few streamlining pieces of furniture and a little gilt can help set the mood. A gaudy mirror and some elegant drapes with a matching bedspread can kick start a theme of pampered success.
Alternately, go simplistic – with a stark bamboo floor mat and a oriental dressing screen stood in the corner of the room. Crisp cotton sheets and a white comforter can make you feel like you are in a hotel on the beach – especially if you add rattan blinds to the window.
The bathroom is a snap – a heavy glass bowl filled with wrapped soaps and a rack with luxurious white towels will instantly make you feel pampered. Add an extra fluffy robe with your initial monogrammed, and you can feel on vacation every time you take a bath!
Look at pictures online to see virtual renderings of rooms at five star hotels. Gather ideas to make your home as ’suite’ as it can be – and don’t forget the mints under the pillow! Once you have decided on a theme, the sky is your limit – you can continually add bits and pieces to further authenticate your room’s feel.
