The words stimulus, reform and regulation have been highly touted as of late and for good reason. As a different twist, take a moment and apply these words to your personal style. A reason to take the focus off the winter blahs makes it a perfect time to use stimulus with getting to the bottom of our individual styles. Maybe it is a change or could be a tidying up of sorts or getting back to something that used to make you shine.

Here are some tips to help you get to the basics of your style, reform it and then regulate when those impulse items try to distract you from it.

  1. Think about your personal style – what is it? Trendy, Classic, Preppy, Athletic?
  2. Pick out a celebrity or someone in the news that you have a similar style with. It could be a favorite TV personality or Maria Bartiromo from CNBC. You will be able to reference this persons style on their show, newscast, in the tabloids or on the web every once in a while to get some ideas yet stay consistent with your style.
  3. Remember to apply your personal style to accessories and make-up too.

Final tip — when you find a pair of shoes that epitomizes your style and is comfortable, buy two pairs!
