I don’t watch a lot of television – who has the time? But I must admit that on Thursday nights, I have a standing date with Michael, Fiona, and Sam. I join them for a little guilty pleasure at 10:00 p.m. In case you haven’t met them yet, they are the cast of USA Network’s #1 hit series Burn Notice, one of this year’s most watched series on cable.
It stars Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen – a spy ‘burned’ (disavowed) by someone in the top secret agency he works for. While trying to uncover who ‘burned’ him and get his life back, he uses his special ops training to help good people who have gotten in trouble.
Donovan is joined by the sultry Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona Glenanne, Michael’s on again – off again girlfriend and former member of the IRA. Rounding out the cast is a brash Bruce Campbell as Sam Axe, a former military intelligence expert hired by the FBI to keep tabs on Michael, and the chain smoking Sharon Gless as Michael’s mother, Madeline.
Together they form a modern day ‘Robin Hood’ style band aiding decent, respectable people who have seemingly hopeless problems. Michael is a reluctant hero joined by his friends and family, who all have a past – and a heart.
Why call it a guilty pleasure? It is filled with non-stop action and cutting edge style set in the beautiful sun and surf of Miami. Add an electrifying blend of sexual tension, powerful drama, wry humor, and a gripping plot, and you have the makings of an addiction.
Make some time for fun in the sun with Mike, Fiona and Sam in Miami. This summer, as seasons one and two go into reruns. If you can only pick one, this is the show to watch! Catch up on the back-story at USA.

If I had to pick TWO, Burn Notice is right there.
For just one, it’s Friday Night Lights, one of the single most well-written shows on the airwaves, regardless of genre. IMHO, anyway.
Otherwise — absolutely! I look forward to every BN episode, and have no trouble at all watching them twice and even thrice.
