I love to throw a party, but it can be a hassle finding affordable invitations to send- especially if it’s a big party! When planning my last hoorah, I realized how silly it is to spend a bunch of money on invitations (that people throw away!) when I could just make my own. I searched online for ideas and found websites that walk you through the process. You can design and print your own invitations from online templates…for free!

When you want to spend your party money on the food—and the fun!—try printing your own invitations. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Scan the templates for a design that fits your style or party type. Many invitation templates have pictures of balloons or banners that say, “You’re invited!” Choose your template, download and print.
  2. Fill in the information (To:, From:, Directions:, Date and Time:). If you don’t want to write them by hand, type the information into a word program, print it onto sticky labels and apply to the invitation.
  3. Have fun! You can jazz up your invitations with stickers, stamps, glitter- whatever you want! This personal touch sure beats the ‘pick and choose’ of store bought invitations. It’s also a fun project for kids when planning a birthday party.
  4. Mail them or hand them out. If you want to save on envelopes, simply fold the invitation with designs facing inward, close the edges with stickers, and add the stamp and mailing information directly on the surface.

Printing your own free party invitations is a great money saver and lets you add your own personal touch.
