In spite of rumors to the contrary, the Atkins revolution is not all about 16 oz steaks and pounds of bacon. It is high protein and low carbohydrate but there are a lot of ways to have a varied and nutritious diet without resorting to the cave man diet!

The pros of the Atkins diet are that you are never going to feel hungry. You never hit a point where you have eaten everything that you have been allotted for that day. Have a snack attack at 11pm? Feel free to have any of these zero carb items, a small piece of pepperoni, a grilled hot dog, some leftover chicken or a scrambled egg or hundreds of others.

Another plus is that you are going to lose fat in places that have never lost fat before on any diet. I’m talking upper arms, stomachs, love handles and believe it or not, thighs. Where ever fat is hiding on your body, the Atkins diet will find it.

Your cholesterol total figures are going to improve. While your bad cholesterol may not go down much, the good cholesterol is going to go through the roof. It makes no medical sense, and yet it happens.

Don‘t get me wrong. Carb cravings kick in on day three, but you can do it! Tough it out for ten days, and you‘ll erase white bread from your life forever! The Atkins diet is a life style change. Fitting in those jeans from High School or that little black dress is just part of the reward; it’s also knowing that one bite of dark chocolate won’t blow your whole week. Never having to count calories again makes it the best diet around!

Look at all the stuff you can eat.
