Sometimes a vacation seems like a distant dream, a fantasy we will never quite get to. Schedules conflict, budgets don’t quite work out, family obligations interfere with that all important couples’ time. Don’t despair! You don’t have to spend a week on a cruise ship or elope to Maui to have the idyllic vacation with that special someone.
You can escape simply by deciding to. You don’t have to buy plane tickets, or even pack more than a simple suitcase. Check out the hotels in your own neck of the woods, and surprise your significant other. Pack only what you need, and declare a moratorium on cell phones and laptops for 48 hours.
Check in early, and just flop on the big bed for a minute. Don’t unpack neatly, just toss stuff in drawers and decide what you want to do. Hit the pool if it is summer, or catch a movie so you can snuggle in a warm theater safe from wintry weather.
Later you can have a romantic dinner at the restaurant of your choice, and make it back to the hotel in time for some up close and personal time. In the morning – room service. No cooking, no making the bed – hey, you don’t even have to get out of it until you feel like it! Enjoy breakfast in bed and rediscover what its like to share the shower.
Focus on your partner, and take some time to talk and reconnect. You might find out this mini vacation was just what both of you needed. See if you can plan on it being a monthly ‘thing’ for just the two of you. You deserve it.
Look for great local deals on hotels at Hotels Combined. You can often find a long weekend offered at a single night rate!
